Dear Trinity Family, Grace, mercy and peace from God our Father and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. God paints His creation with rich, vibrant colors, filling the world with beauty. We, as Christians, use those colors in our worship service. Each Sunday, as you enter the sanctuary you see those colors adorning the altar and hanging from the pulpit. They are meant to draw our attention to Christ, to his life, ministry, death, and resurrection, and his bride, the Church. Right now we are in the time of the Church year we call the Trinity Season, and a part of what is considered Ordinary Time. During this time we use green paraments. Why green though?  Green is considered to the color of life, growth, hope, and anticipation. It’s used after Pentecost to symbolize two things. First, it reminds us of the new life we have in the resurrection of Christ. It is a time for us to grow and to mature in our faith, learning from our precious Savior. Second, it is meant to reflect our dedication to Christ’s kingdom and the work given to us, to growing the church and extending missions that draw others to faith.  “The Word of the Lord grew.” Luke usesthis expression three times in Acts (6:7; 12:24 and 19:20) and each time we are reminded that God’s Word is a seed that is sown and nurtured, that sprouts and grows. As you look at the green paraments during this season I pray you see and feel the Word growing in your life and the work of Trinity! In Him,   Pastor Wyatt
